The Smiling Coast

Gambia | 2012
Gambia, the smallest country on the African continent, is also called the Smiling Coast of Africa. Referring to the hospitality of the population. These images have been shot on the Gambian coast, where fish is an important export product.

One of my favorite pictures, I love that it shows the pride of these fishermen who started posing with their caught fish.
This exact picture made me fall in love with taking portraits.
Fishermen getting their net from the sea.
Several young men did the heavy lifting for very small, barely any, monetary rewards.
These kids were fascinated by the sight of four white people in the back of an open truck.
